THRIVE Project

For over 35 years, Reimagine Australia has been leading the way to better include children with a developmental delay or disability.

Now, in an Australian-first, we are launching a project called THRIVE which aims to bring together service providers, families, health care professionals and more, in a central digital tool and ecosystem.

This is an opportunity for the first national conversation about co-designing a streamlined way for families and professionals to interact, collaborate, and support the best possible outcomes for children.

The aim of this project is to remove some of the barriers, confusion, complexity and stress that families and children face all too often when navigating this journey, and the systems they interact with, such as the NDIS and disability system, and the healthcare system etc.

THRIVE aims to provide:

• Real-time access to high quality information on evidence based best practice
• Make it easy – less complexity for parents to navigate when seeking support and services
• Greater certainty of where to get help and what help is available to families
• Guidance on best practice that strengthens family-centred practice for professionals
• A streamlined way for families and professionals to interact, collaborate, and support the best outcomes for children in their early years.

The THRIVE digital ecosystem supports families by providing: 

• Guidance throughout every stage of their child’s development
• Intuitive and free easy access to assistance and information based on best practice
• Digital information in a range of engaging and accessible formats such as video 
• Easy connectivity to services and supports in their own community
• Real time connection to peer-to-peer support groups 

The THRIVE digital ecosystem supports professionals by providing:

• Family-centred and best practice information, tool kits and supports
• Deep collaboration of the team of professionals around the child and family
• A connection point for professionals and families which supports easily scheduling of appointments
• A secure environment for sharing and storing records, documents and information
• The ability for real-time collaboration between professionals and families and children ensuring they are supported to reach their full potential

How to get involved

2. Register your interest to become part of the project. We will be running collaboration workshops, co-designing together with community and more.
3. Like and share our social media posts about this project on Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter and Instagram with other families and professionals alike.

We are looking for feedback and to collaborate with people from:

• Families of a child or children with a developmental concern, developmental delay or disability – in all states and territories across Australia
• Aboriginal Torres Strait Islanders families 
• Culturally and Linguistically Diverse families (migrants and refugees) 
• Parents with disabilities 
• GPs 
• Pediatricians
• Maternal Child Health Nurses
• Midwives 
• Community service and social workers

The information captured in this project will be used to help us design solutions that make access to information, support and services easier for families and their children, and to support the community and healthcare to achieve better outcomes when working with families and children during these years.
